"The Château Tertre-Rôteboeuf 2014 already has an extremely pure bouquet that almost whisks you away to the Côte d’Or: vivacious raspberry coulis and fresh strawberry scents suffused with fine mineralité. It’s unmistakable “Mitjavile”, a bouquet you want to hug as much as inhale. The palate is medium-bodied with dusky dark berries, black plum and a dab of dried fig on the entry, which dovetails into a precise and linear middle. There is a satisfying grainy texture with a gourmand-like, savory-tinged salted licorice finish that completes this what might prosaically be described as a "delicious" Saint Emilion."

"80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc. Almost a dangerous 3.9 pH and alcohol almost 14%. Deep crimson. Amazingly rich on the nose with some hints of confit cherries. Very exotic and quite different from any other 2014 I have tasted. Very sweet and ripe but the structure is absolutely not drying on the end. So luscious and seductive. Like cherry jam but not sickly or heavy. Exceptional! 14%"

"From a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, scents of wet earth, forest, caramel and black raspberries pop from the glass. In the mouth, lush cherry griotte, fresh black raspberry and spice, leave a lasting impression. The harvest took place from October 15 to October 20, making this one of the property’s latest crops. The wine reached 13.8% alcohol and the pH is 3.88. 93-95 Pts"

"Francois Mitjaville ne chae pas son attirance pour les millésimes tardifs "au charme sénescent, aux tanins attendris par l'automne". Son 2014 se démarque autant qu'il séduit, avec une impression de velours sucré et une complexité aromatique rare dans le millésime. Pour autant le vin reste aérien dans sa texture, avec un irrésistible côté Dorian Gray, décadent, violette fanée. Un caractère unique, une esthétique originale, un vin qui est allé au bout de la maturité, avec un caractère éthéré qui lane au-dessus du fruit. Artiste."

Je tiefer - desto wärmer! Das ist die Formel, an welche der Tertre-Roteboeuf-Besitzer Frana§ois Mitjaville ganz fest glaubt. Und auf seinem Weingut sind die Reben so tief gezogen, dass die Trauben manchmal fast den Boden beruhren. Die Erde wurde sich tagsuber erwärmen und in der Nacht einen Teil dieser Wärme reflektieren. Das wurde die Trauben besonders reif machen. Wie tief seine Rieben wirklich angelegt sind, sieht man erst, wenn man ein Gabriel-Glas (23,5 cm. hoch) daneben stellt...
80 % Merlot, 20 % Cabernet Franc. Tiefes Purpur, satt in der Mitte, Granatschimmer am Rand. Das wärmste Bouquet aller degustierten Libournaiser-Weine. Nirgends waren so viele, reife Pflaumen und Dörrfruchte im Nasenbild zu finden, dahinter eine wunderschöne Ration Mokka und auch zarte Truffelnoten. Im Gaumen weich, samtig mit einer Chambertin-haften Textur, das weich ausklingende, lange Finale, zeigt Brombeeren und Lakritze. Eine voluminöse Delikatesse. Fur Francois Mitjaville war es die späteste Ernte seines Lebens."

Sweet, perfumed aromatics meld into a core of exotic blue and black-fleshed fruit supported by veins of saline minerality in a wine that stands out for its translucent texture. A closing flourish of highly expressive floral and spiced notes adds the last shades of nuance. Once again, this is one of the most deeply personal, intriguing wines in St.-Emilion. The 2014 is 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, brought in starting on October 15, very late, even by the standard of the year."
