"My best score for the estate en primeur.
An outsider. Pascal Lucin has worked wonders on his tiny estate in Côtes de Castillon. Half malbec, half merlot, this Clos Louie is superb. Refined and subtle nose of ripe fruit. Tasty and delicately creamy on entry the wine reveals a fat and flavourful character with an elegant tactile feel throughout. It is particularly well-structured, aromatic, spicy and savoury. Elegant finish and good length- and yet, some batches have not quite finished their malolactic fermentation so this Clos Louie should gain in fat. A true find. "
