"The 2015 La Fleur de Gay was actually more timid on the nose than the La Croix de Gay, possibly due to the higher percentage of new oak used here. Still, with aeration, it is clear that there is more than enough fruit waiting in the wings. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, lithe in the mouth and well balanced with layers of licorice-tinged black fruit. Perhaps it does not require all that new wood on the finish, but I suspect it will be absorbed with 4-6 years in bottle."
