"The Château Croix Mouton 2014, from Jean-Philippe Janoueix, was showing a lot of conspicuous wood on the nose and was missing some fruit concentration. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly hard tannin on the entry, but there is an attractive core of sappy red currant and fresh strawberry fruit and a pleasant tang of spice on the tobacco finish. It represents what you might call a stocky Saint Emilion that will need a year in bottle to settle down. Tasted twice with consistent notes."
