"The 2016 La Grave a Pomerol is a blend of 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc. It has a crisp nose of black fruit, briary, that leitmotif of warm gravel percolating through, perhaps more aloof than the 2015 when I tasted it here last year. The palate is medium-bodied with blackcurrant and bilberry on the entry. I would have just liked to see a little more detail on the palate, more roundness on the entry, although it is fresh and has decent length. Fine, although I prefer the 2015."
