Denis Dubourdieu ist es aufgrund seiner kompromisslos konsequenten Arbeit in den letzten Jahren gelungen, zum Synonym für Weinfinesse und Terroirtypizität zu werden. Wie bei kaum einem anderen Önologen in Bordeaux ist sein Ruf makellos und sein Renomée überragend.Clos Floridène, der sich semantisch akronym aus den Vornamen von Florence und Denis Dubourbieu, die das Weingut 1982 gründeten, zusammensetzt, erstreckt sich heute über eine Rebfläche von etwa 32 ha. Persönlich würde ich Clos Floridène sowohl in rot als auch in weiss als die Paradeexpression Dubourdieuscher Kunst sehen.

"This Clos Floridene is a little pinched at the moment with a pleasant herbaceous quality. Good definition. The palate is medium-bodied with attractive, harmonious dark berried fruit, good acidity and fine length. Nothing outrageous here...just very fine Pessac wine to accompany your meal. Tasted April 2011."

"(a 75/25 blend of cabernet sauvignon and merlot) Good, bright ruby. Sappy aromas of raspberry, blackberry and minerals, along with a whiff of smoke. Juicy, deep and concentrated, with supple, energetic black fruit and mineral flavors. Finishes with good grip, but the dusty tannins are a bit less polished than those of the best 2010s from Pessac-Leognan. I love this wine's expression of cool, refined cabernet sauvignon grown on a mixture of limestone and gravel."
