"Deep inky purple. Overripe aromas of cassis, blueberry syrup and coffee liqueur; smells more like a New World wine than a Bordeaux Then fresher and smoother on entry than the nose suggests, offering a velvety mouth feel and rich but rather chunky flavors of inky blackberry jam and vanilla. Finishes reasonably lively but with rather brutal tannins and a trace of heat. This massive Providence will probably impress many tasters but I wanted a bit more complexity. It may eventually come together in bottle but will no doubt require extended cellaring."
