"One of the most successful wines in the Moulis-Listrac appellations, Poujeaux (owned by the Cuvelier family, also the proprietors of the impressive St.-Emilion estate of Clos Fourtet) has turned out a surprisingly good wine in 2011. Its dark ruby color is followed by sweet plum, black cherry and currant fruit, no herbaceousness, a medium-bodied, elegant mouthfeel, and noteworthy purity. Drink this tasty, mid-weight Moulis over the next 5-6 years."

"Tiefes Purpur, satt in der Mitte, Granatschimmer am Rand. Kühles Bouquet, Rosentöne, Pfefferkörner, ein Hauch Geraniol, also knapp reifen Cabernet Sauvignon anzeigend. Im Gaumen unlogisch viele Tannine, diese sind kernig und geben dem Wein eine kapselige Härte. Ein schlechtes Muster? Eigentlich müsste dieser Wein auf recht hohem Niveau sein, wenn da nicht Fehler gemacht worden sind. Noch zwei Mal bei anderen Gelegenheiten verkostet. Das Potential ist fraglos da, aber der Wein lechzt nach Harmonie. Also momentan verhaltene Wertung. Er bekommt aber neue Chancen, weil Poujeaux sonst immer seit Jahrzehnten ein sehr sicherer Wert ist."

"Bright medium ruby-red. Ripe aromas of blackberry, violet and roasted oak. Suave on entry, then firm and minerally in the mid-palate, with good definition to its perfumed dark fruit and cocoa flavors. Comes across as pliant despite its brisk acidity and serious tannins. Good ripeness on the finish."
