"A serious red, as one has come to expect from this impeccably run estate, the 2000 Poujeaux exhibits a dense ruby/purple color, a sweet nose of black currants, minerals, and earth, excellent texture, impressive purity, and a long, concentrated, moderately tannic finish. Anticipated maturity: 2005-2016+."

"01: Dunkles, sattes Purpur, undurchdringlich. Gewaltiges, reifes Beerenbouquet, vielschichtig und enorm dicht, Dörrfrüchtenote und eine betörende Süsse, Mahagonitouch. Stoffiger, enorm dichter Gaumen, rot- und blaubeeriges Fruchtspiel, gaumenumfassende Adstringenz, völlig sauber und perfekt vinifiziert. Eine Tanninbombe, die sich aber doch schon jetzt anfühlen lässt. Die Erfolgsserie für Poujeaux reisst nicht ab. 18/20 2006 – 2020"

"Deep medium ruby. Black cherry, violet, licorice and bitter chocolate on the nose. Intensely flavored and rather sinewy, with firm acids framing the fruit. Quite backward and firmly tannic, but has the material and structure to age nicely. Finishes with a note of espresso. This chateau has been making consistently strong wine in recent years."
