"A tiny 2.47-acre vineyard owned by Tony Balu, the manager of Clos Fourtet, it will be almost impossible to find this 2010 given the fact that yields were 16 hectoliters per hectare (less than half of normal). The final blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon hit 13.5% alcohol, which is a lot lower than I would have suspected given the winemaker and the terroir. Sweet black currant and blackberry fruit intertwined with notions of licorice, camphor and white flowers are found in this beautifully rich, opulent 2010. The finish is soft and velvety textured. It should drink well for 15+ years."
