"Tasted ex-chateau and single blind in Southwold. The Malartic-Lagraviere 2008 has a very ripe, floral bouquet with a lot of vanillary new oak with dark cherries, raspberry and here, a hint of tangy marmalade in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins. Ripe and vivacious, rounded with good acidity cutting through the ripe cassis and blackberry finish. Almost Pauillac in style with great focus, this is a superb wine from the Bonnie family. Tasted January 2012."
