"The elegant, light-weight 2012 La Grave a Pomerol exhibits notes of cherries, balsam wood and underbrush, medium body and little tannin. It is a pleasant, picnic-styled Pomerol to drink over the next 7-8 years.
This slightly herbaceous Pomerol displays some of the maturity issues encountered by vineyards planted in sandy soils, even in the Right Bank where the maturity curve was far ahead of the Cabernet Sauvignon in the Medoc."

"The La Grave-a-Pomerol 2012 from barrel lives up to its name on the nose with light warm gravel scents infusing the light black fruit. Hints of tobacco develop with time. The palate is medium-bodied with dry, slightly chalky tannins. It would benefit from a little more depth of fruit the mid-palate, although there is a pleasant sense of “classicism” on the finish. This is a decent La Grave-a-Pomerol that should drink well over the ten years or so. Tasted April 2013."
