"Another small estate owned by the talented Jean-Philippe Janoueix, this 12-acre vineyard, planted in gravelly soils, was cropped at 28 hectoliters per hectare, and the final blend was 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc that reached 14.5% natural alcohol. Full-bodied with notes of smoky barbecue interwoven with creme de cassis, black cherries, licorice and espresso roast, it reveals excellent fruit and a juicy attack and mid-palate before the tannins kick in. Big and masculine, it will need 5-6 years of cellaring, and should keep for 15-20+."
