This estate has been on a hot streak of late. The 2010 is a slightly bigger, richer wine, but without losing its floral, elegant mulberry, black raspberry and sweet kirsch notes. Combine those with some licorice, subtle new oak and a hint of forest floor, and the result is a medium to full-bodied, rich, complex wine that has striking aromatics and perfect balance in the mouth. Forget it for 3-5 years and drink it over the following 30."

"Cropped between 16th September and 5th October at 39hl/ha, the La Conseillante ’10 has a very pretty nose where the Merlot seems to be more dominant than the Merlot at first with some lovely wild strawberry and raspberry scents. But with time in the glass, the Cabernet Franc makes its impression with some delicate, leafy notes coming through, a hint of truffle. The palate is simply gorgeous with supple tannins, harmonious dark berry fruits interlaced with dark plum and a hint of mocha, very good weight and persistency towards the finish. This is an outstanding follow-up to the awesome 2009."

Concentrated, full bodied and powerful for La Conseillante, this silky, elegant, opulent wine combines freshness, depth and elegance. From a blend that is similar to the vineyard plantings, even though the wine is high in alcohol for the estate at 14.5, there is no sensation of heat in the finish. Racked two weeks ago, the wine was tight aromatically. In the mouth, it’s easy to sense the wine is offering more volume, greater length and additional structure than it showed in April. 2010 La Conseillante was offered at 150 Euros, showing an increase from their 2009 pricing.“

"La Conseillante Produced from an assemblage of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, (which is the same as the vineyard plantings,) the wine is slightly higher in alcohol than what they achieved in 2009 at 14.5% . Due to the high levels of acidity from 3.69 pH, there is no sensation of heat. Floral, chocolate, truffle and black raspberry liqueur aromas exude from the glass. Dark and powerful, a unique character for La Conseillante, the wine is rich, intens and filled with plum liqueur, chocolate and black cherry. The wine combines freshness, silky textures and a sense of refined elegance, with the volume turned up. Jean- Michel Laporte feels 2010 is in the same style as 2005."

"Ich kann mich nicht erinnern, bei einem Primeur-La-Conseillante eine solch dunkle Farbe gesehen zu haben. Violett mit lila Schimmer. Heidelbeeren, Brombeerstauden, Rauch, Tabak und eine Spur Eucalyptus. Fester Gaumen mit Fleisch und Muskeln, Lakritze, getrocknete Heidelbeeren, absolut tiefgründig, eine Vollpackung mit unglaublich viel Finessen. Wenn ich auch schon oft das Gefühl hatte, diese Domaine bei Fassproben ehrlich zu bestrafen, so darf ich heuer zugeben, dass ich ihn noch nie so genial fand. Drei Mal verkostet. Ein aufrichtiges Bravo an das Conseillante-Team mit Michel Laporte im Lead! (19/20)."

Berauschendes Bouquet, grossartigen Merlot zeigend, viel Cassis und Heidelbeeren, erfrischende Blütendüfte sind darin und ein Hauch Minze, ergänzt durch dunkle Pralinen. Im Gaumen superfein und berauschend elegant, alle Tannine sind seidig und der Wein fühlt sich jetzt schon wie milchig an, dies bei genialer, erhabener Länge. Ein legendärer La Conseillante. Endlich wieder einmal fraglos überzeugend und auf Spitzenpomerolniveau. Bereits vor einer Woche auf dem Weingut direkt mit gleichem Eindruck degustiert."
