"The wine is lush, succulent, and a hedonist's dream, as the fruit is ripe, fleshy and displays plenty of red and black nuances along with hints of spice box and Christmas fruitcake. It is a medium to full-bodied, unpretentious wine that satisfies the palate, pleases the olfactory senses, and lingers in the mouth. Drink it over the next 10-12 years.
Consistently one of the most seductive wines made in just about every good vintage in St.-Emilion, yields at La Clotte were low in 2010 (29 hectoliters per hectare), and the final blend of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc boasts 14% natural alcohol."
