"Probably the finest Haut-Bages Liberal since the 1982, this beautifully rich wine has an inky purple color, a big, sweet kiss of creme de cassis, incense, some background spicy oak and forest floor. Its gorgeous fruit, full-bodied opulence, impressive purity, expansive texture and broad, savory finish make for a terrific wine to drink over the next 25+ years."

"67 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 33 % Merlot. 65 % Grand Vin. Extrem dunkles Purpur mit violetten Reflexen, auffallend dunkel. Verführerisches Minze- Cassis-Bouquet, viel Brombeeren, hintergründig Edelhölzer, richtig herrlich nach Pauillac duftend. Am Gaumen extraktreich, fleischig, mit gut stützender Adstringenz und charaktervoller Kraft, kein besonders feiner Wein, aber dafür ein besonders kräftiger HBL, der nach Reife verlangt. Genial, der beste seiner Historie."

"Purple ruby. Red cherry, violet, cedar and minerals on the expressive nose. Juicy on entry, then densely packed and vibrant in the middle, with a fine-grained texture to its red fruit and floral flavors. This suave, very persistent wine needs more time in barrel to put on weight and gain in complexity. Its polished but youthfully rigid tannins also call for a few years of cellaring."
