"Tasted at the French Embassy in London. This is a commendable effort in such a challenging growing season. It has a rounded, sensual bouquet with wild strawberry, cedar, smoke and a healthy dose of vanillary oak that needs to be subsumed. The palate is rounded with generous with peppery red-berried fruit, quite animally and feral towards the finish but showing nice balance throughout, with cedar dominating the aftertaste. This is a well-crafted Giscours with good weight and matiere, a Margaux that coped with the torrid summer heat better than most. Drink now-2020. Tasted November 2010."
