"Performing better from bottle than it did from barrel, the 2007 Gazin is spicy, but the oak component is more restrained than normal. It is a relatively big-styled wine for a 2007, with impressive richness, a dark ruby/purple color, notes of lead pencil shavings, ink, black currants, sweet dark plums, and balsamic. Cellar it for 1-2 years and consume it over the following 10-15."

Excellent. Drink 2012-2020. Tasted November 2009."

"Couleur rouge sombre, de bonne intensité. Nez aromatique, fin, fruité et subtil. Note de café évoquant les terroirs de Graves. Bouche très bien construite, veloutée à l'attaque, juteuse au développement et moelleuse tout le long de la dégustation. Tannicité enveloppée, suivie d'une bonne persistance aromatique. "Sattes, dichtes Purpur mit lila Schimmer. Zuerst duftet das Bouquet nach Brombeeren und Cassis dann zeigt er tabakige aber auch etwas grün anmutende Aromen. Im Gaumen sind die Tannine momentan sehr vordergründig und zeigen muskulöse Züge die mehr auf Charakter als auf Charme hinweisen. Wird somit so oder so ein rustikaler Gazin bleiben. Hat seine Harmonie noch nicht gefunden."
