"Performing better from bottle than it did from barrel, the 2007 Gazin is spicy, but the oak component is more restrained than normal. It is a relatively big-styled wine for a 2007, with impressive richness, a dark ruby/purple color, notes of lead pencil shavings, ink, black currants, sweet dark plums, and balsamic. Cellar it for 1-2 years and consume it over the following 10-15."

"Tasted at the UGC in London. A light, lifted nose, good definition, a nice earthiness coming through with wild hedgerow and a touch of briary. The palate is full-bodied, good clean extraction here with firm structure, a sense of elegance and natural harmony towards the finish with blackberry, cedar and a touch of white pepper. Good length. Excellent. Drink 2012-2020. Tasted November 2009."
