"Tasted twice with consistent notes, the Ferriere ’10 is a blend of 32% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 66% Cabernet Sauvignon delivering 13.5% alcohol at a pH 3.60. It has a light, fresh, quite “stony” bouquet that takes time to unfurl. Typically of Ferriere it has striking acidity on the entry, very fresh and lively dominated by the cedar-infused Cabernet Sauvignon leading to an elegant finish. Compact but very fine. Tasted April 2011."

Drink 2018-2026. Exceptionally ripe on the nose, but with good freshness of fruit too. The tannins are not as obvious as on some other wines although the finish is, overall, pretty dry and minerally. Clean and brisk. A very light green streak. Fresh, athletic.

25% kleiner Ernte als üblicherweise, mit recht hohem Pressweinanteil von 12% wegen der kräftigen, aber reifen Tannine. Sattes Purpur mit violetten Reflexen. Maul- und Heidelbeeren, leicht tintiger 'Untergrund, klassische Cabernet Aromatik. Fleischiger Gaumen mit leicht körnigen Tanninen, die dem Wein eine charakteristische, etwas bourgeoise Note verleihen, noble, an schwarze Pfefferkörner erinnernde Bitterkeit im Extrakt. Kann zulegen, weil er viel Potential aufweist.

"(66% cabernet sauvignon, 32% merlot, and 2% cabernet franc) Deep ruby-purple. Lovely aromas of flowers and red berries, with hints of bay leaf and marjoram. Then linear in the mouth, but with a laser-like purity and precision to the red fruit and underbrush flavors. Polished, mounting tannins coat the palate. I wonder if this isn't a bit too tannic for the amount of fruit it possesses. Only time will tell, but today I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt."
