"Coarse tannins, less than stunning concentration (somewhat surprising for a 2010) and a distinctive earthy, autumnal, vegetative character are found in this medium-bodied, chunky Pomerol. Drink it over the next 7-10 years."

"A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, this Bourgneuf 2010 has a very deep ruby colour. The nose is quite closed at first, but there is a very fine sense of mineralité here, well defined and tightly wound. The palate is medium-bodied with smooth tannins, hints of dark chocolate on the entry and touches of dark cherry. It displays brittle but fine tannins, crisp and focused towards the finish. This is an admirable Chateau Bourgneuf made by Fréderique Vayron. N.B. A second bottle that had just been opened showed slightly harder, edgier tannins that were consistent with a third sample at JP Moueix. Drink 2013- Tasted March 2011."
