"The 2016 Le Prieure has an attractive, quite floral bouquet with plenty of blackberry and blueberry fruit, the oak nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with supple ripe tannin, plenty of blackberry and bilberry fruit intermingling with tobacco and spice towards the finish. This is a fine Le Prieuré from Paul Goldschmidt (see also Le Siaurac and Vray Croix de Gay) but let's see if it surpasses the excellent 2015."

"Couleur sombre, intense et pourpre. Superbe nez parfumé de cerise et mûrier sauvage puis fleurs. Très fin. Bouche gracieuse, élancée, minutieuse dans son toucher, moelleuse, parfumée et surtout délicate en finale. Bonne longueur."

"One of the unquestioned Sleeper jewels of the year, the 2016 Le Prieuré is off the charts beautiful. Silky and impossibly refined, the 2016 is a wine of pure and total precision. Today, the 2016 is a bit more restrained than it was from barrel, when it was a more overt wine. That is not a bad thing, though, as I suspect the 2016 is going to need a number of years to be at its finest. Dark, beautifully perfumed and gracious, Le Prieuré represents the height of finesse in Saint-Émilion. Jean-Claude Berrouet consults for the Artemis Group, which is now the sole owner of Le Prieuré. The 2016 is a fabulous wine by any measure. Don't miss it."

"One of the most exciting wines of the vintage, the 2016 Le Prieuré is another superb wine from the group of estates owned jointly by Paul Goldschmidt and the Artemis Group that also includes Siaurac and Vray Croix de Gay. A rich, sumptuous wine, the 2016 Le Prieuré possesses stunning depth in all of its dimensions, yet at the same time remains fresh and vibrant throughout. Potent tannins drive the finish, but they are nearly buried by the sheer intensity and luxuriousness of the fruit. A host of dark red cherry, woodsmoke, tobacco, herbs and crushed flowers build in a deeply expressive and resonant Saint Émilion of the highest level. Tasted three times."

"Pourpre clair aux reflets violets. Bouquet intense alliant fruit et terroir. Notes de calcaires et de baies rouges. Attaque friande, élégante. Le corps est légèrement crémeux et parfaitement équilibré. Il a de la fraîcheur et du fruit. Les tannins se révèlent lentement en fin de bouche et sont en symbiose avec la structure qui confère jus et fraîcheur. Un vin agréable et vif."
