"The 2015 Petit Village is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the first wine to be made by Diana Garcia-Berrouet (the daughter-in-law of Jean-Claude for those that recognize the appended name). It has a straightforward black cherry and iodine-scented bouquet that needs to muster a little more complexity given the terroir. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, perhaps more filigree than previous vintages. Given the precocity on the Right Bank, I would have liked more depth on the finish, though it is well balanced with ample freshness on the finish. It is a Pomerol estate that just needs to find its "groove."

Quelle belle surprise ! Pour la première fois, ce vin se présente à l'égal de ses voisins avec un nez fin, fruité, pur, des touches d'encre, de réglisse et de truffe. En bouche, le moelleux de son corps, la douceur dans la réalisation, l'équilibre de la stimulation m'ont interpellé tant l'expression de Petit Village trouve une voie plus heureuse que par le passé. La venue d'une nouvelle directrice et vinificatrice Diana Garcia Berrouet semble tout changer. Bravo ! Assemblage : 71 % merlot, 20 % cabernet franc et 9 % cabernet sauvignon. Sélection : 60 % du volume."

An explosive Pomerol, the 2015 possesses remarkable intensity, texture and overall depth. Dark cherry jam, smoke, licorice, crushed rocks and espresso are some of the many notes that grace this exceptional Pomerol. I can´t remember tasting a Petit-Village this good. The interplay of Merlot fruit and more aromatic, savory Cabernet Franc/Sauvignon-inflected notes is simply compelling. The blend is 71% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon."

"I have not had good luck with the 2015 Petit-Village. The first sample was massively tannic and forbidding. A second bottle was marginally better. There, I saw a wine with good up-front appeal but not real depth or persistence to speak of. Needless to say, I liked the 2015 far better from barrel. If the 2015 is anything like the two bottles I tasted, Petit-Village is, sadly, one of the real disappointments of the vintage. This is the first vintage made under the stewardship of new technical director Diana Berrouet-Garcia. The blend is 71% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 9% Cabernet Sauvignon."

Un vin tout en élégance qui demandera un peu de temps pour se révéler et qui dispose d'une réserve à ne pas sous-estimer. Finale fruitée.
