"Lovely soft perfumed aromas on the nose. Smooth and silky, the texture is appealing straight away, perfectly weighted giving richLy perfumed but also gently fleshy fruit, freshness, body and acidity. A minerality comes through on the finish alongside touches of clove, but so well integrated they merely peek through. I like the finesse here, you really feel they got the balance right. It's direct and linear for sure but carrying depth and intensity so well. Chalky and grippy, it's gently persistent. It feels well worked. I like it a lot and look forward to tasting in bottle. Tasted twice."

Deep purplish crimson. Rather exotically ripe nose of purple-fruit sensations. Quite luscious and less fresh than some. Quite ambitious in terms of longevity with lots of ripe but dry tannins underneath the opulent fruit. Quite concentrated."

"From an estate that has been in the Sénéclauze family since 1935, the 2021 Château Marquis de Terme checks in as 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot that's still resting in 50% new barrel. This ripe, mouth-filling, almost meaty Margaux offers lots of darker fruits as well as notes of truffly earth, chalky mineral, and chocolate to go with a medium-bodied, round, mouth-filling style on the palate. This wine always has a touch of rusticity, but it brings character, texture, and solid mid-palate depth. Tasted twice."

The palate is well balanced with sappy black fruit, fine tannins, well-judged acidity and a sapid finish. This actually punches above my expectations and looks promising. I look forward to retasting this in bottle because this is the best wine from the estate I've tasted in many years."
