"The 2021 Lascombes is a successful effort in a rather more punchy, modern style, opening in the glass with aromas of berries and plums mingled with notions of sweet spices, loamy soil and creamy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, rich and youthfully firm, it's deep and extracted, with plenty of ripe, powdery tannin that asserts itself on the finish."

"Dark chocolate-covered black cherries on the nose, so appealing. This is scrumptious, the combination of cool, crunchy fruit with ripe, plush tannins and generous acidity. I love the lifted nature, the sweet fruit aspects and the chalky, wet stone element to the tannins which coat the mouth. Feels precise and well worked. Lovely stuff. Tasted twice."

Very dark purplish crimson right out to the rim. Quite a bruiser. Definitely not an obvious expression of Margaux’s delicacy but not too sweet and not too heavy compared with some other vintages from this property. Just a little aggressive in terms of the acid and tannin impact on the decidedly inky – rather than fruity – finish."

"Couleur sombre, aux reflets pourpres. Nez fruité, pur et précis. Délicat en entrée de bouche, savoureux au milieu, avec de la présence et un profil élancé, le vin caresse le palais. Il s'achève juteux, savoureux et fin. Cette vinification a bénéficié des avantages d'un nouveau chai, plus confortable et doté de petits contenants, aptes à mieux sélectionner. Assemblage : 55 % cabernet sauvignon, 40 % merlot, 5 % petit verdot. Degré d’alcool : 13°5 – pH : environ 3,75. IPT : environ 80. Rendement : 41 hl/ha."

"The 2021 Lascombes is a dense, plush Margaux, but also not quite as pushed as in the past. That's a good thing. A burst of ink blue/purplish fruit, chocolate, leather, licorice and mocha are front and center. As always, Lascombes is a pretty flamboyant wine, but it is also very nicely done. There is plenty to admire. Tasted two times."

"The 2021 Lascombes has a fleshy, ripe, fruit-forward bouquet with black cherries, raspberry and inkwell aromas that gather momentum in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with quite plush tannins on the entry, good weight and breadth, yet missing some details and personality on the finish that slightly tapers away. Fine, but there are a few edges that need to be shaved and I think they will."

"Avec un nez boisé, légèrement fumé et des notes de fusain, de graphite et de fruits noirs, Lascombes veut imposer son style et sa puissance. Toucher de bouche velouté, patiné avec une belle structure d'ensemble et une trame tannique plutôt généreuse qui bâtit la bouche. Le bois est moins présente que d'habitude. Les élevages seront décisifs et il se pourrait qu'un temps de cave de 5 à 15 ans donne au vin un supplément d'âme."
