"Prenant des risques importants, la proprieté a attendu le plus tard possiblepour vendanger. Le 2012 offre une structure sérieuse et profonde, avec des tanins fins. stricts, mais enrobés. L'ensemble s'étire bien, et reste pur et précis dans son expression fruitée. Il demeure d'un escellent rapport qualité/prix."

"This blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 20% Petit Verdot displays the ripeness it was possible to achieve in this vintage as it boasts 13.5% natural alcohol. It is medium-bodied with cedary, herbaceously-tinged red and black currant fruit intermixed with a hint of loamy soil. Drink it over the next 4-5 years."

"50 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 30 % Merlot, 20 % Petit Verdot. Etwa 40 % neues Holz. Tiefes Purpur, satt in der Mitte, Granatschimmer am Rand. Reifes Beerenbouquet, helle Edelhölzer, Milchkaffee, jetzt schon ziemlich ausladend. Samtiger, eleganter Fluss mt feinen Tanninen, zeigt Rückhalt und Reserven, im Finish Cassis und Holunder. Ein spannender Wein mit einem Abonnement von 17-Punkten - wie fast in jedem Jahr. Und… man spürt förmlich seine approximative Nähe zu Margaux! Also eine parfümierte, burgundische Delikatesse. Ich habe ihn fünf Mal bei verschiedenen Gelegenheiten degustiert und lag dabei oft sehr nahe bei 18/20!"

"(51% cabernet sauvignon, 28% merlot and 21% petit verdot): Deep ruby-red. Aromas of blackberry, licorice and herbs are complemented by spicy chocolate. Smooth, suave and juicy, with pliant, subtly sweet black cherry, red berry and cocoa flavors complicated by an herbal element. Not a big wine but nicely balanced and fresh, finishing with good length and no green edges--a pleasant surprise in light of the high content of petit verdot. Still, some estates were remarkably successful with this variety in 2012, and Belle-Vue is among them. Part of their success may be due to the high average age of the vines (32 years) and the gravel-rich soils located on the plateau near Giscours and Cantemerle, but at 53 h/h the yield was generous. The wine was fermented in squat stainless steel tanks with a long (50-day) maceration punctuated by frequent, gravity-driven delestages (i.e., no pump-overs) "
