"Avec seulement 50% de grand vin, les frères Kressmann, avec l'oenologue Denis Dubourdieu, ont été rigoureux sur les sélections! Les 7% de petit verdot sont un record dans l'assemblage. Il s'exprime d'ailleurs avec charme dans l'échantillon présentant des tanins tout en tendresse et en rondeur. Fin, délicat soyeux, il fera un délicieux vin de plaisir."

"Tasted twice with consistent notes, the Grand Vin is a blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot picked from 1 to 16 October at 45hl/ha. If offers plenty of ripe black plum and mulberry fruit on the nose that evolves a marine-like influence. The palate is medium-bodied with a soft entry that belies that tannins that become more evident towards the finish. There is good weight here, a real class act and the finish is one of the finest that I have encountered on the Grand Vin at this primal stage. Certainly one to look out for once released. Tasted April 2013."

Jahr für Jahr eine sehr gute Leistung vorbringend und immer noch von (zu) wenigen Weinfreunden estimiert."

"(51% cabernet sauvignon, 42% merlot and 7% petit verdot; 5 g/l total acidity; pH 3.6; 38% new oak): Good full ruby. Initially restrained aromas of delicately smoky blackcurrant, ink and minerals turn more fruity and floral with air. Enters the mouth clean and mineral, then turns increasingly lush and seamless, with sweet black cherry and blackberry flavors nicely framed by juicy acidity. Finishes bright and long, with building weight and sweetness. A potentially outstanding, complex wine that has to be included in a short list of the most successful of the vintage. Another plus is all that flavor and style at a moderate 13% alcohol. Latour-Martillac has gone from the over-extracted, over-the-top wines of barely a decade ago to wines that are truer and more typical of their terroir."

"Again that bright purple rim, evident oak on the nose, grilled almonds, creme patissiere, good dark cassis fruits. Astringency to the tannins, this has a good grip, over reaching acidity, but alcohol slightly dampens the fruit. Still this has balance, and it feels coiled, ready to spring forward, not a powerhouse exactly but supremely confident. One of the few that will need to wait a good 8 years before being ready to drink. 93 / 18. Highly recommended. Drink 2020 - 2032."
