There is plenty of tannin and underlying structure, but those elements are nicely balanced by the sheer luxuriousness of the fruit. Readers should expect a decidedly intense style. Everything falls into place effortlessly in this superb Marquis d´Alesme Becker from the Perrodo family and consulting winemaker Michel Rolland. The blend is 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot. Tasted two times."

The first vintage produced in the new cellars has elevated the estate to another level. Produced from 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc and 3% Petit Verdot, the wine reached 13% alcohol with a pH of 3.6 and is aging in 65% new, French oak barrels. "Pourpre violacé. Quelle belle intensité olfactive. Le bouquet révèle des parfums de réglisse, cassis, framboise, mûres et fruits confits frais. Attaque élégante, légèrement suave et rafraichissante. Le corps a du gras et une belle intensité aromatique où l'on retrouve les notes de réglisse et de mûres. L'élevage est encore un peu marqué, mais la matière pour l'intégrer est présente. Tannins granuleux se révélant lentement, structure rafraichissante, vive et portant idéalement le fruit. C'est certain, ça bouge du côté du Marquis d'Alesme. Bravo!"
