Es ist dem ausnehmend ausgewogenen Branaire Ducru 2020 quasi in die Wiege gelegt, eine selbstverständliche Empfehlung für den Jahrgang zu sein, denn zu keinem anderen Wein ist der Weg des „no brainers“ semantisch kürzer als zu diesem #fabelsaintjulien der Familie Maroteaux.
Seine in einem Fruchtkern von feinstem Maßwerk domizilierte Energie ermöglicht ihm eine Gaumenfahrt von vorzüglicher Eleganz mit iterierenden Ausflügen bis in die Tiefen sensorischer Resonanz, die ihn, wenn seine Zeit der bestmöglichen Genussentfaltung gekommen sein wird, zu einem Objekt intensivster Begierde wird werden lassen.
Eine besondere Empfehlung für Freunde dezenter Zurückhaltung und erhabener Balance.

"Blueberry, blackberry, damson and hawthorn, this has juice and tannins with an elegance and really excellent St-Julien character; A lovely Branaire, well placed. "Couleur sombre, intense, pourpre et belle. Nez très aromatique, fin, fruité, pur, subtil et floral. Moelleux en entrée de bouche, très parfumé au milieu, juteux et même complexe dans son déroulé, avec de la présence, le vin fond, s’étire, sèveux, long et très savoureux. De la tenue et du plaisir. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, and very cohesive, displaying a keen thread of acidity. Unlike previous vintages, there is impressive density on the midpalate where it once was a little lean, and plenty of energy and tension conveyed by the finish. Excellent."
