James Suckling:

"Builds on the finish with dark-berry, chocolate and sweet-tobacco character. Medium body, a solid core of fruit and a juicy, delicate finish."

Weitere Verkostungsnotizen Château La Grave 2016 Magnum AOC Pomerol

The Wine Advocate:

"The 2016 La Grave a Pomerol is a blend of 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc. It has a crisp nose of black fruit, briary, that leitmotif of warm gravel percolating through, perhaps more aloof than the 2015 when I tasted it here last year. The palate is medium-bodied with blackcurrant and bilberry on the entry. I would have just liked to see a little more detail on the palate, more roundness on the entry, although it is fresh and has decent length. Fine, although I prefer the 2015."

René Gabriel's BDX Total:

" Mineralisches, tiefes, elegantes Bouquet, Himbeeren, Schiefer, Minze, junges Holz. Feingliedriger, seidener Gaumen mit zarter Frucht, feinem Tannin, guter, duftiger Aromatik, dichtverwobener Struktur, frischer Abgang. Kann noch zulegen."

André Kunz 17/20 -  2023 bis 2036

Decanter Magazine:

"A gentle take on the vintage, more approachable with a floral character and a smoky edge. Here we are into curling, cold woodsmoke with a violet tinge. From 9ha on gravel and fine clay. 96% Merlot and 4% Cabernet Franc."

Jane Anson 91 Punkte

Wine Spectator:

"This is lovely, with creamy-textured plum, cassis and boysenberry fruit that unfurls slowly and steadily, picking up bright anise and floral notes, as well as a tug of earth at the end. Rock-solid.—J.M."

James Molesworth 92-95 Punkte

VINOUS/vormals Neal Martin:

"The 2016 La Grave is a bit chunky and foursquare. The transition from the midpalate into the finish feels attenuated, while the fruit is a bit roasted. Simple, straightforward Pomerol. Will it develop into something more?"

Antonio Galloni 87-90 Punkte

Quelle: April 2017

"The 2016 La Grave is a powerful, somewhat foursquare Pomerol with good depth, but not a ton of either complexity or persistence. Élevage has helped La Grave come together nicely, and the wine is now much better balanced than it was en primeur, although some rough contours remain. "

"The 2016 La Grave Trigant de Boisset is just a little pinched on the nose compared to some of its peers, perhaps showing just a touch of reduction. The well-balanced palate is conservative and linear, with supple tannin, a fine thread of acidity and a tensile finish. Usually this drinks fairly young, but the 2016 deserves three or four years in bottle and should give 15 years of drinking pleasure."

Roger Voss:

"Barrel Sample. A dense wine with ripe tannins. The fruit is there, although buried in the firm structure. It's good for the long term."
