Schon seinem historischen Rang nach ist Château La Lagune im Haut-Médoc ohne Gleichen. Seitdem die schweizer Familie Frey das Weingut erworben hat, wird mit Konsequenz, Zielstrebigkeit und Erfolg daran gearbeitet, La Lagune zum Hort feinster Gerbstoff-Haut-Couture zu machen. Für mich ein weiterer Fixstern im Médoc-Firmament.
Bewertungen:
Der brillantpurpure La Lagune entfaltet ein sehr würziges, von einer erfrischenden Mineraliennote begleitetes Bouquet von dunklen Beeren mit feinem Edelholztouch und dezentem floralen Schwung. Mit der gleitenden Grazie purer Eleganz taucht der Edel-Haut-Medoc den Gaumen in einen Resonanzraum passgenauer Haute-Couture-Anmutung, eine feine Säureprise ist das Fundament für einen Spannungsbogen, der den Wein mit energischem Schwung zu einem Finale von seidiger Souplesse und aromatischer Eleganz führt. Haut-Médoc at its best.

"Le millésime 2013 a donné naissance à un petit lot d'une cuvée composée uniquement de cabernet-sauvignon. 2014 n'a pas offert on plus de gros rendements (25hl/ha). Le vin est de très beau niveau, bien charnu, dense et surtout très équlibré. Les notes de fruits rouges tapissent la bouche et explosent en finale."

"Flowers, black cherry, chocolate mint and hints of vanilla create the aromatics. The wine is sweet, round and ripe with dusty tannins, fresh berries and cocoa in the round, elegant finish. Produced from a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot, the wine reached 13.5% alcohol. 90-92 Pts"

"Sattes Purpur-Granat, dicht in der Mitte, lila Schimmer aussen. Das Bouquet duftet wie ein chilenischer Cabernet, also findet man im floralen Schimmer auch eine genugende Ration Eucalyptus und grune Pfefferkörner. Im Gaumen dicht, feine Tannine, wirkt gebundelt und zeigt sehr gute Anlagen, das Extrakt weist eine pfeffrige Note auf, die Rasse stammt wohl vom Anteil von 10 % Petit Verdot, welche sich im Blend drin befinden. Als ich ins Weingut kam stank es im ganzen Chais nach faulen Eiern. Ich hoffe dieser seriöse, lagerfähige La Lagune 2014 wird da nichts abbekommen!"

"The Château La Lagune 2014 was picked between 22 September is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot with the young plots of Merlot and finishing with the Petit Verdot on 7 October. Proprietor Caroline Fray explained that there is a higher percentage of Cabernet because the Merlot suffered a lot of coulure. They have also replanted some Cabernet on the top of the hill, and these are now ready to go into the Grand Vin (there will probably be a higher level of Cabernet Sauvignon from now on.) It has well-defined bouquet, a little broody at first, but opening with chalky scents, tobacco and a touch of graphite, the higher percentage of Cabernet lending it a Pauillac like personality. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, quite citric acidity but supported by adequate black fruit. This is a classic La Lagune that I think will fill out with barrel maturation (50% new) and turn into a mighty fine La Lagune that will settle at the top of my banded score."
