"One of the two finest estates of Moulis (the other being Poujeaux), Chasse Spleen’s large vineyard is planted with 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot. The ripe, generous 2001 is a chunky, fleshy, deep ruby/purple-colored effort revealing good body, moderate tannin, and an earthy, black currant fruitiness offering notions of minerals and tree bark. Give it 2-3 years of cellaring to shed its substantial tannin, and drink it over the following decade."
