"The 2020 Charmail is a blend of 36% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Cabernet Franc and 16% Petit Verdot, weighing in with an alcohol of 14%. Medium to deep garnet-purple colored, it offers subtle notes of red and black plums and blackberries with touches of fried herbs and crushed rocks. The medium-bodied palate is a little lean and green, offer chewy tannins and an herbs-tinged finish."

"One of my favorite wines from Haut-Médoc is the Château Charmail, and the estate has done beautifully in 2020. Revealing a healthy ruby/purple hue as well as beautiful ripe cherry fruits and plenty of cedary spice and dried flower notes, this red hits the palate with medium-bodied richness, ripe tannins, and a great finish. This total charmer will give many a top Margaux a run for its money."
