"A blend of 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon from the northern part of the Médoc, the 2016 Château Doyac is a fine Cru Bourgeois that has a beautiful cassis, scorched earth, and tobacco-scented nose as well as medium body, notable purity, light tannins, and a terrific overall balance. It’s just another hidden gem in this vintage that will be savored by true Bordeaux lovers. It should keep for 7-8 years."

"The 2016 Doyac feels a little basic and lacks cohesion on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy, red berry fruit, light on its feet and yet it just misses some complexity and grip towards the finish. One of the earlier drinking Haut-Médoc wines. Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois tasting in London."
