"The Château Seguin 2014 is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. Consultant Alain Raynaud told me that the vineyard husbandry has improved a great deal at this estate, introducing weeds between rows to limit yields. Cropped at 40 hectoliters per hectare, it has a floral bouquet with raspberry jam and wild-strawberry scents, gaining density all the time in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, fine mineralité and appreciable tension toward the poised finish. There is a pleasing sense of harmony and refinement here and it attests to the improvements that Raynaud suggested. "
