"The Kirwan 2013 has a reticent nose at first, light gravel-tinged black fruit that have a slight Pauillac allure à la Brane-Cantenac. But I would have liked more vigour. The palate is medium-bodied with a supple opening: bright red berry fruit, well judged acidity, cohesive with more depth on the finish than I expected. This is definitely one of the brighter spots of the appellation this year. Bravo. Tasted April 2014."
