"It's clear that this is hugely concentrated, as is the Montrose right next door, but there's also beautiful juice and freshness underneath the black fruits and the powerful grip. Tannins, acidity and fruit: it's all there. This is great quality and should be long-lived, with a rich palate, evenly balanced and austere in all the right places. Another good vintage at this increasingly impressive property."

"Barrel sample. Black core with deep purple rim. Very oaky on the nose, sweetly toasty as a counterpoint to stony, dark fruit. The oak really dominates the palate, the tannins thereby thickened, like thick chocolate. Chewy finish but it does have enough freshness."

"Clearly a contender for the best vintage of Meyney ever produced, this wine has a fabulous depth of flavor, concentration, silky soft tannins, perfectly ripe dark, spicy, fresh fruits, length and an expansive finish. The wine was made from blending 42% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 18% Petit Verdot."

"Ma meilleure note donnée à ce cru en primeur.
Couleur sombre, intense et belle. Nez au fruité mûr et pur. Un des plus précis que je connaisse. Délicat à l'attaque, puis juteux en milieu de bouche et fondant, le vin évolue particulièrement fruité, vers une finale ascendante, à la tannicité enrobée. La construction, la saveur et la texture n'ont jamais été aussi nobles. C'est très bon !"

"Pourpre violacé. Bouquet filigrane, complexe, invitant. Notes de bois de réglisse, de poivre et de cerises noires. Au palais, le vin est dense, crémeux et doté d’un bagage tannique qui lui permettra de traverser quelques décennies. Ses tannins sont certes puissants mais également fins et sont en parfait accord avec la structure acide. Finale fruitée et persistante. Un vin équilibré, fin et puissant. Un grand vin."
