"The 2016 Le Crock has a crisp, pure, focused bouquet replete with brambly red fruit, orange zest and light spicy notes; the aromatics here convey plenty of energy. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, quite rounded tannins for a Saint Estèphe. One of the more forward examples tasted from the appellation, yet well balanced. A smooth Szechuan pepper note lingers on the aftertaste."

"The 2016 Le Crock is a very pretty, fruity wine that will drink well with minimal cellaring. Bright red cherry and plum fruits are nicely pushed forward in this mid-weight, gracious Saint-Estèphe. All the elements are very nicely balanced. Floral overtones add to the wine's considerable appeal. In 2016, Le Crock is pliant and supple, both of which make it an absolute joy to drink now and over the next handful of years."

"The 2016 Le Crock feels a little pinched on the nose at first, but it is well focused, delineated and delivers plenty of blackberry and cedar scents laced with cigar box. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, well judged acidity, quite fleshy towards the second half with wonderful precision on the finish. Quality winemaking at work here from the Poyferré team. Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois tasting in London."

"The 2016 Le Crock is deep, pliant and seductive. The flavors are deep and boldly sketched throughout, with plenty of black cherry, plum and gravel character. The clay-rich terroir and the high percentage of Merlot combine to make a Saint-Estèphe of striking texture and depth. Because of the small berries of the Cabernet and the lower production of that grape, the 2016 blend includes more Merlot."
