"The last vintage produced under the Tesseron family, the 2021 Lafon-Rochet exhibits aromas of dark berries, plums, licorice and spices, followed by a medium-bodied, lively and succulent palate that's fleshy and layered, framed by powdery tannins. A charming, supple effort, it will drink well on release."

"Juicy and lively, this has a playful and fun nature to the fruit - sweet strawberry and raspberry with some herbal raspberry leaf touches too and the Cabernet spice and backbone also making an appearance. Nice clarity with a smooth texture and an overall glossy feel to it despite the robust tannins on the finish. Plump and layered with charm. The last vintage under the helm of Basile Tesseron. 1% Petit Verdot completes the blend. 3.70pH."

"69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot. New regime here with Basile Tesseron having sold and Jean-Claude Berrouet and Eric Boissenot having blended the 2021 for the new managing director, ex-Lafite winemaker Christophe Congé, on 7 March. Cask sample.
Quite luscious and almost more luscious than the St-Estèphe norm. Although it finishes on a distinctly stony note. Set for the long term with no shortage of character or ripe fruit. Persistence is pretty impressive! This is almost a 17 though for the moment the finish is a little bit pinched."

"Cedar, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppery spice, and black raspberries. The wine is medium-bodied, soft, energetic, and fresh, with a lifted, red currant, and leafy endnote. The wine was made by blending 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. 13% ABV. This is the final vintage for the Tesseron family. Subsequent vintages will be produced by Jackie Lorenzetti, along with the team of Emmanuel Cruse, the new owner of the property. Drink from 2023-2035."

"Couleur sombre et profonde. Nez intense, au fruité mûr. Minutieux en entrée de bouche, un peu timide au milieu, le vin se redresse en finale, caressant, sur une longueur moyenne. Il ne se présente pas comme d'habitude. Assemblage : 69 % cabernet sauvignon, 26 % merlot, 4 % cabernet franc, 1 % petit verdot. Degré d’alcool : 13° - pH : 3,70 – IPT : 76. Rendement : 32 hl/ha. La propriété a connu le gel et le mildiou."

"Tasted on numerous occasions, the 2021 Château Lafon-Rochet has solid, yet slightly reserved aromatics of darker, almost blue fruits and some classic tobacco and lead pencil. It opens up with air and is medium-bodied, with a classic, focused style (I said Pauillac in my notes), notable balance, and a great finish. The blend is 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and a splash of Petit Verdot."

"The 2021 Lafon-Rochet is a wine of notable precision. It will be interesting to see if it gains a bit more flesh in élevage. Today, the 2021 is decidedly lithe in feel. Crushed flowers, mint, rose petal and bright acids lend energy to a core of red berry fruit. Captivating in ist inner perfume and elegance, LafonRochet is the most Pauillac-like of the Saint-Estèphes."
