Château Rol Valentin 2014
Nicht nur wegen des kleinen roten Herzens im Etikett ist Château Rol Valentin in den letzten Jahren mein Daueraspirant auf den coup de coeur gewesen. Nach dem Eigentümerwechsel von der sympathischen Rugby-Legende Eric Prissette, dem ich aber mit seinem Roc verbunden bleibe, auf die Familie Robin kann man mit dem Jahrgang 2009 nur Anmerkungen höchsten Entzückens verbreiten.

In brillantes Rubin gefasst, verströmt dieser charmante Saftfruchtler sehr würzreiche Noten reifer Brombeeren und saftigem Cassis, in die kühlende Mineralienspuren, Veilchenduft und Lakritze eingewoben sind. Die konzentrierte, auf den Punkt reife Frucht benetzt in seidigem Fluss die Zunge und füllt den Gaumen in der eleganten Robe femininer Souplesse auf der Basis des unprätentiösen Tanningeflechts in feiner Balance aus. Das Aromenspektrum ist weit gefasst und integriert in seiner Mitte konzentriert die zwar üppige, aber dabei höchst präzise Frucht mit ihrem feinsüssen Extrakt. Das Finale ist langanhaltend voll reichhaltigem Schmelz und distinklter Frische.

Ripe, voluptuous and racy to the core, the 2014 possesses fabulous nuance and class, all in a textured, voluptuous style that will appeal most to readers who enjoy ripe, flashy wines. Succulent dark cherries, smoke, menthol, spices and new leather reappear on the sweet, resonant finish. Although not at all subtle, the 2014 Rol Valentin is unquestionably beautiful and loaded with personality. The 2014 is 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, vinified in oak vats, with malolactic fermentation done entirely in barrique. Julien Lavenu is the consulting winemaker."
