"The 2015 Bellefont Belcier is a blend of 68% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon cropped at 39 hl/ha. Matured in 80% new oak, it has a sweet, ripe black cherry and boysenberry nose. At the property, the nose showed a little blowsiness, though subsequent samples exuded much more freshness. There is a touch of shoe polish here. The palate is dense and balanced with fine tannins and well-judged acidity. The palate has much more to offer than the aromatics and the lascivious finish is both harmonious and sensual, a touch of spice lingering on the aftertaste. This is a very well-crafted Saint Emilion with panache and class."

This is a major step up for Bellefont Belcier. From a blend of 68% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, the alcohol reached 15%, with no sensation of heat. The harvest took place between October 1 and October 14."

This estate covers 13.5 hectares of prime real estate, sitting just beside Larcis-Ducasse on the plateau and south-facing hillside of the Côte Pavie. Loads of blackcurrants, black cherries, truffle, licorice and hints of chocolate all emerge from this opulent, full-bodied, inky-colored red that has boatloads of sweet tannin, a rich, deep mid-palate, and a great, great finish. There’s a little over 5,000 cases of this beauty, don't miss it. Tasted twice."

"Pourpre intense aux bords violacés. Belle intensité du bouquet avec des notes de fraicheur et de fruits noirs. J'y trouve un peu de mûres, de réglisse ainsi qu'une agréable touche de moka. Attaque élégante, suave. Le vin a du corps et un peu de gras. Il dispose surtout d'une bonne structure qui octroie du jus et de la longévité. Les tannins sont granuleux et puissants. Un vin où tous les éléments sont présents. Reste à attendre qu'ils se mettent d'accord. Finale fruitée."
