"Drink 2015-2028; Very thick. Perfumed. Very sweet and opulent and ambitious. A bit of tannin on the end. You could almost stand a spoon up in this. Clinet? Very rich. Pretty alcoholic finish but there is lots of rich fruit, too."

"Sattes Purpur-Granat. Würziges Cassisbouquet, mit feinen Kräutern durchsetzt und im Hintergrund eine warme Amarenasüsse aufbietend. Cremiger Gaumen, Red-Currant-Note im konzentrierten Extrakt, gewisse Extraktionsnoten bei interessantem Potenzial. Wirkt wesentlich reservierter, klassischer als der offensive 2008er. Bei einer zweiten Degustation zeigte er sich dann euphorischer, mit noch mehr faszinierenden Fruchtnoten. 20182032"

"Tasted at Chateau Clinet. The Rouget 09 has a fresh, well defined bouquet with wild strawberry, cherry and a touch of rose petal...very feminine and fragrant. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, ripe tannins, just a little toasty and spicy, good weight, modern in style but well balanced with good acidity and delineation towards the finish with hints of bay leaf and spice. Cohesive, very good length. Look out for Rouget upping the ante over the next few years this is just the beginning. Tasted April 2010."

"Owned by Jean Pierre Labrueyere and his son Edouard, a Burgundy family who have vineyards both in Burgundy and Bordeaux (and follow a Burgundian philosophy to a large extent, with everything very small scale, natural and precise often the malo hasn't even finished by the primeurs, although this year it seems to have done). The grapes mix is 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc. Good crisp fruit, it still needs some time to soften up, but this is really very successful. Bright purple fruits, very tight, very held together, enormously pleasurable, and far from being ready to approach."
