WINE SPECTATOR:

"Succulent, with lots of red currant and blackberry confiture notes, laced with anise and sweet spice details. A singed apple wood edge forms on the finish. Shows excellent energy overall.—J.M."

James Molesworth: 91-94 Punkte

VINOUS:

"A big, powerful wine, the 2014 Haut-Bergey hits the palate with an exotic mélange of smoke, cured meats, tobacco, black fruit, incense and dark spices. Deep, rich and quite concentrated, the 2014 is bursting at the seams with personality. Don´t expect the 2014 to drink well anytime soon. Still, for those who can wait, the 2014 has plenty to offer. The substantial yet silky finish alone is hugely appealing. The blend is 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot."

The Wine Advocate

"The Château Haut-Bergey 2014 is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot (though is pinch of Petit Verdot according Hélène Garçin-Léveque) raised in 30% new oak. It has a lot of ripeness on the nose, quite “full-on” in style and showing just a little sur-maturité. The palate is better, reining the opulence of the aromatics in with quite dense blackberry and raspberry fruit with commendable delineation on the finish. It just needs to contain that over-enthusiasm on the nose."

Jancis Robinson

"Particularly dark purple. An attention-grabber. Sweet mulberry fruit. It does finish pretty dry and has some of the greenness of the vintage but an effort has been made to counteract that. Cool finish. "
