"Chewy depth to the tannins, buoyed up by juice rippling through the red berry fruits. Gourmet and silky, a creamy texture through the mid palate with hints of subtle caramel and baked earth. Excellent."

"Earthy with a smoke, cigar, cocoa and red berry nose, the wine is elegant, soft, medium-bodied and forward. The tannins are silky, the fruit is fresh and this will drink well right out of the gate. What more could you ask for from this blend of 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon?"

Jean-Marc Quarin

Assemblage : 60 % merlot, 40 % cabernet sauvignon. Degré d’alcool : 13°2 – pH : 3,7."

"The second wine of Château Haut-Bailly shows a fine balance between firm tannins and generous, ripe and dense black fruits. With 60% Merlot in the blend, this rich wine has a plump character that means that it will develop relatively quickly into a full-bodied wine."

Jeb Dunnuck

"The second wine of Château Haut-Bailly and based largely on Merlot, the 2019 Château Haut-Bailly II is a soft, seductive Graves with beautiful blue and black fruit as well as notes of chocolate, tobacco, and damp earth. Medium to full-bodied, with delicious fruit and silky tannins, drink it on release and over the following 10-15 years."

VINOUS

"The 2019 Haut-Bailly II is a very serious second wine. Big, potent tannis give the 2019 much of its somber, brooding personality. Black cherry, graphite, licorice, cloves and new leather infuse the 2019 with tremendous complexity. Readers should be prepared to cellar the 2019 for at least a few years. If this tasting is any indication, it is a real powerhouse with quite a bit of cellaring potential."

Antonio Galloni 92-94 Punkte

"The 2019 Haut-Bailly II, formerly La Parde de Haut-Bailly, was picked from 23 September to 10 October. This bursts from the glass with crushed strawberry, dark cherries, vanilla and light sous-bois aromas - utterly charming. The palate is medium-bodied with finely-chiseled tannins, a keen line of acidity, precise and vibrant with just a touch of piquancy on the finish. This is an absolutely delightful second label that comes highly recommended."
