"This 15-hectare estate has produced the Perrodo family's most serious, structured wine this year in the form of the 2021 Marquis d'Alesme. Exhibiting aromas of raspberries, red cherries, violets and blood orange, it's medium to full-bodied, with powdery tannins, lively acids and creditable persistence on the finish."

"A deep, rich, opulent nose giving that Margaux glamour straight out the gate. Heady, perfumed purple flowers on the nose. The aromas are really beguiling, you get the ripe Cabernet fruit which was such a success in 2021 - the green pepper, black pepper, blueberries and eucalyptus with hints from the Merlot - sharp, sweet and sour strawberries and red cherries with herbal notes of liquorice and cedar. It's certainly fresh and you get a clarity on the palate, it's not massively structured per se but offering lovely balance, freshness and precision of all the elements. There's a vibrancy to this and a nice mouthfeel of gentle but grippy tannins - they're fine but filling. Fruit and oak are well balanced with such persistence of gentle flavour. Lovely refinement and class with a lifted minty finish. I love it. 3% Cabernet Sauvignon completes the blend. 3.80pH. They lost around 25% of the yield in 2021, bringing in 32hl/ha compared to the usual 40-45hl/ha."

"Cedar, flowers, cocoa, mint leaf and red fruits shine in the nose. On the palate, the wine is elegant, soft, fresh and juicy, with a fruity mid-palate and a refreshing, savory edge to the finish. The wine blends 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 6% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc. 13% ABV. Drink from 2024-2044."

"Couleur sombre, pourpre et soutenue. Nez très aromatique, fin, fruité, pur et subtil. Tendre à l'attaque, minutieux en milieu de bouche, savoureux, le vin caresse le palais. Il monte en finale sèveux et fin dans ses arômes et son tannin. Bonne longueur."

"Moins boisé qu'à son habitude, ce qui explique des notes de fruits noirs et une pointe florale plus présente, Marquis d'Alesme propose un toucher de bouche tendu, une structure moyennement dense mais équilibrée, des arômes de café et de moka en finale et une sensation aérienne très agréable. Un bel équilibre."
