"The 2016 D’Agassac has a well-defined bouquet with blackberry and cedar scents, the oak neatly integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, moderate depth with good acidity and yet, the finish seems to let victory slip from its grasp and feels somehow, a bit, lackadaisical? A frustrating primeur sample, especially given the growing season and I hope it shows better from bottle."

"Cabernet Sauvignon plays the leading role in the 2016 d'Agassac. Sweet tobacco, herbs and licorice meld into a core of dark fruit. Dense, savory and powerful, with good balance and persistence, the 2016 is shaping up nicely. The tannins need time to soften, but the wine is distinctive and full of personality. The blend is 81% Cabernet Sauvignon and 19% Merlot. Frédéric Massie and Romain Bocchio consult."

The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, lighter than many Cru Bourgeois with a rather unwanted lactic note towards the finish. This could have been better. Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois tasting in London."

"The 2016 d'Agassac is a fruity, forward Haut-Médoc Cru Bourgeois to drink now and over the next handful of years. Super-ripe dark cherry, tobacco, dried herbs and licorice are nicely pushed forward. This is an especially bold, up-front wine with quite a bit of Cabernet Sauvignon character in both its flavor and structural profile."
