"The 2019 Moulin Haut-Laroque sports a deep garnet-purple color and notes of warm black plums, cedar chest, aniseed and Black Forest cake with hints of clove oil and tilled soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is generously fruited with loads of black fruit and oak-inspired flavors, framed by grainy tannins and oodles of freshness, finishing spicy."

"Powerful, and a good example of how successful Fronsac is in this vintage. Tons of plush and sleek black fruits, paired with freshness that comes through as a real cushion of air underneath the fruit. A gourmet touch added by a chocolate finish. Great mix of plump fruit and austere tannic grip, classic appellation markers in a good vintage. 17 generations in Fronsac for the Hervé family here. 100% new oak but it eats it up smoothly even at this early stage. Easy to recommend. 5% Malbec completes the blend."

"Couleur sombre, intense et pourpre. Nez intense, fin, fruité et parfumé. Moelleux à l'attaque, velouté en milieu de bouche, le vin évolue puissant, mais sans angle tannique, vers une belle finale savoureuse. Très bel Outsider. 2026 – 2046."

"The 2019 Moulin Haut-Laroque has a very pure bouquet with blueberry, blackberry, vanilla and subtle violet aromas. The oak is nicely integrated. The palate is well balanced with supple tannins, not amazingly complex but fresh with a lovely liquorice-tinged finish that lingers nicely. Promising."
