James Suckling

"This has plenty of green and red bell-pepper aromas, the generous tannins giving it plenty of power and drive. Long, moderately dry finish. Extremely polished tannins. A blend of 50 per cent petit verdot, 45 per cent merlot and five per cent cabernet sauvignon. Drink or hold."

Jeb Dunnuck

"From deep soils right along the river and made by the same winemaker as Belle-Vue, the 2016 Château Bolaire is a blend of 50% Petit Verdot, 45% Merlot, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged 10% new French oak. It’s a ripe, blue fruit-driven effort that offers loads of tobacco, leafy herb, and damp earth characteristics, medium body, a silky, elegant texture, and a great finish. It also has outstanding purity of fruit and will keep for over a decade."
